    UPCOMING EVENTS

    TEACHER TALKS

The NATS board wants YOU to know how important you are to the
chapter.  NATS is all about the joy of singing and sharing that joy and
knowledge with other teachers and students.  The more we share ideas and
strategies the stronger our teaching becomes.  Excellent teaching
strengthens the art form.  We'd like to offer more opportunities for
teacher's to link together and support each other, so grab your calendar
and see if you can be a part of the following upcoming teacher talks.

Sunday, Feb. 12: NATS reception after SDSU's 2 PM performance of
Mozart's Magic Flute.  Meet with other teachers for free refreshments to
discuss the performance and chat about technique.  A special ticket
discount for NATS members is available by mentioning the code
    "SARASTRO"when you book tickets.

Friday, February 24 and Sunday, Feb. 26: "FISHING FOR
IDEAS" Natalie Mann (2/24) and Juliette Singler (2/26) will be looking for
you and other NATS members during intermission on the mezzanine level
of the Civic Theatre for San Diego Opera's production of Moby Dick.
Topic: "Has Heggie succeeded in creating a classic American opera that
will appeal to future generations?" If you're interested in being part of a
group Juliette's organizing for 2/26, contact her at <jsingler@pointloma.
edu> before Feb. 12 for ticket info.  If you are interested in being a part of
Natalie's group, you may contact her at <nataliem60@yahoo.com>.  (For
Natalie's group you can buy special group rate single tickets for the 2/26
performance and waived handling fees, by going to <http://www.sdopera.
